THE ORCHESTRA

Founded in 2016, La Filharmonie aims to be a center of attraction and aggregation for all those involved in the fields of music, art, and entertainment. The enthusiasm and young age of the musicians blend with a prestigious professional profile, boasting experiences with some of the most important national and international orchestral formations. La Filharmonie flexibly addresses symphonic and chamber music, musical theater, opera and ballet, applied music, and new forms of expression. Its Opera, Ballet, and Concert Season in Florence and throughout the Tuscan territory result from a constant search for innovative elements, new sounds, and new productions in dialogue with the great lyrical-symphonic repertoire. Special attention is given to contemporary music with numerous premieres and new commissions for established or emerging authors of today. La Filharmonie is supported by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Tuscany Region, the Municipality of Florence, and the CR Firenze Foundation and is awarded as the best cultural start-up in Tuscany within the Smart&Coop 2017/18 program. Its artistic director is Giulio Arnofi, while the musical director Nima Keshavarzi benefits from the prestigious collaboration of Maestro Roberto Abbado as a guest conductor and honorary artistic consultant. In the last two years of activity, La Filharmonie has experienced significant development through international projects such as the Dante 700 symphonic composition competition, the FilArmonia festival, and tours in Italy and abroad.

THE CONDUCTORS

La Filharmonie is a sharing gesture, which aims at offering a variegated artistic offer, constantly in dialogue with its audience.  It is an act of democracy: each member evenly participates in sharing and widening the richness of the Association. It is a bold gesture: each member owns the idea that guides the Association and faces the challenges of the current artistic landscape.
