About the concert

Prospettive is a festival by Orchestra la Filharmonie covering the period between winter 2021 and winter 2022; the opening concert will be held on February 8, at 21.00 at Cinema la Compagnia in Florence. The rich program goes from the classicism of Mozart to the Violin concert by Barber (1939) to contemporary days with the first italian execution of the Kongsgaard Variations by Anders Hillborg, one of the most renowned contemporary composers. A journey through past, present and future with a particular attention to young talents. The Orchestra la Filharmonie will be conducted by its music director Nima Keshavarzi, together with the extraordinary talented soloist Francesca Bonaita.

Francesca Bonaita

Graduated with honours at 17 years old Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan, Francesca Bonaita studies with Sergej Krylov, graduating cum laude at the University of Music in Lugano, Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana. After her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2016 and with the Orchestra Filarmonica of Bacau in Romania she started to pursue an intense professional career, in recitals, chamber music and soloist with orchestra performances. She has been invited to play for prestigious Artistic Associations and Foundations and important Theatres, in Italy and abroad in Germany, Austria – Musikverein in Vienna – in Switzerland, France, Spain, Belgium, Great Britain, Norway, Greece, Romania and USA

Nima Keshavarzi

He devotes himself passionately to both Opera and Symphonic repertoire and has collaborated with some of the major Italian and European orchestras and opera houses: Teatro dell’Opera in Rome (I masnadieri, Andrea Chénier, Benvenuto Cellini), Teatro Regio in Turin (Norma, Simon Boccanegra), Palau de les Arts in Valencia (A Midsummer night’s dream), Teatro Comunale in Bologna (Macbeth), Rossini Opera Festival (Le Siége de Corinthe) and Festival Verdi in Parma (Le Trouvére, Luisa Miller). ​Guest Conductor of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and the Iranian National Orchestra. Co-founder and music director of La Filharmonie – Florence Philharmonic Orchestra, he conducted the orchestra regularly since its debut in 2016, to great public and critical acclaim. Assistant to Zubin Mehta and Roberto Abbado.

Siamo davvero onorati di presentare un’opera di Hillborg per la prima volta in Italia. Ho conosciuto Anders Hillborg grazie al nostro Concorso Dante700 di cui era il Presidente della Giuria e gli ho subito chiesto una sua opera da presentare al pubblico fiorentino. Insieme alle sue variazioni ho pensato di dare spazio a un altro brano molto affascinante ma spesso trascurato dalle grandi orchestre quale il concerto per violino e orchestra di Samuel Barber con ospite un giovane e raffinato talento della scuola violinistica italiana, Francesca Bonaita (M° Keshavarzi)
