Music for Eleanor of Toledo

Visitors will be accompanied on a visit to the apartments of the Duchess Eleonora of Toledo, wife of Cosimo I de' Medici, daughter of the viceroy of Naples Pedro Alvares de Toledo, focusing attention both on the iconographic program of these environments and on the figure of the Duchess, her origins and entourage. Subsequently, it will be possible to listen to a selection of pieces for viola da gamba and lute, performed by Marco Casonato and Francesco Olivero, evocative of the atmosphere of the ducal court. Even if we have no precise information on Eleonora's musical interests, in fact, we know that she had a particular predilection for music.
