The resounding Universe | Concert and conference
with Nazareno Caputo and Marco Padovani
followed by sky observation through telescope
The immensity of the sky and the twinkle of the stars have always inspired humanity and many scientists have been great music lovers or even musicians, such as Galileo, Herschel and Einstein. Through Marco Padovani's tales and Nazareno Caputo's music we will explore the evocative and intriguing link between cosmos and music.
Nazareno Caputo
Classically trained percussionist, he specialized in jazz vibraphone under the guidance of Andrea Dulbecco. Active in the field of contemporary music, jazz and improvisation, he is among the winners of the 2018 Jazzit awards for the vibraphone category and of the Top Jazz 2021 as best new talent for the Musica Jazz magazine. He released his first album as a leader, PHYLUM, awarded in Italy and abroad (best debut of 2021 for The New York City Jazz Record magazine and best album of 2021 for Jazz Music). He graduated in architecture from the University of Florence and combines musical research with architectural research.
Marco Padovani
He is head researcher at the INAF-Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory. He is dedicated to the development of theoretical models to understand the role of cosmic rays in the chemical and dynamic evolution of Galactic star-forming regions. Graduated in piano, he combines his interest in music and astronomy, giving life to a series of concerts that explore the relationship between these two worlds.
