The opening concert of the Festival, named after J. Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 76 No. 4, features la Filharmonie String Quartet and young soprano Valeria Matrosova, and is dedicated to nature. Through the sound of the strings, we seek the color and tones of nature, and – to use Vasks’ words – we experience the divine “in the forest, on the seashore, everywhere, because the world as God created it is so beautiful.”
